The Westin St John Resort

St John Condos is a local team that answers questions before you book, and they can help a couple from Mount Vernon, Maryland, plan a relaxed getaway with a villa at the Westin St John Resort.

Mount Vernon sits in the Southeast region of the United States, in Maryland, and many couples who live here are ready for a change of scenery after a long stretch of cooler months. A Caribbean island offers warm air, clear water, and a slower pace that suits two people who want time together rather than a crowded itinerary. St. John, in the US Virgin Islands, is a quiet place for that kind of trip, and it is easy to reach for travelers coming from the mid-Atlantic. Villa rentals at the Westin St John Resort give couples a private base for the week, with room to unwind on their own schedule. Villas are rented by the week, so you can settle in, cook a few meals, and take your time without rushing from one stop to the next. St John Condos can talk through which kind of villa fits your plans before you commit, so the trip feels like yours from the start.

Getting from Mount Vernon to St. John

  1. Reaching the islands. Most visitors from Mount Vernon fly to St. Thomas, which uses the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From Red Hook a passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Keep your travel documents close, and plan for the ferry as the final leg. St John Condos can explain the usual connections so you know what to expect before you set out.
  2. Choosing your season. Maryland winters are cold, so many couples from Mount Vernon pick the drier and warmer months for a winter escape to the islands. The weather on St. John stays warm for much of the year, which makes it a comfortable choice whenever you can get away. Think about what you want from the week, whether that is quiet mornings or lively evenings, and let that guide your timing.
  3. Planning your villa stay. Once you have chosen your dates, pick a villa rental at the Westin St John Resort that suits two people. Because villas are rented by the week, plan meals, a rental car if you want one, and a few slow afternoons by the water. Remember that driving on St. John is on the left. Ask the St John Condos team anything at all before you book, and they will help you shape a plan that fits your pace.
