The Westin St John Resort
St John Condos helps travelers from Mill Bay, Alaska, plan a milestone celebration on St. John at the Westin St John Resort, with villas rented by the week and a local team ready to answer questions before you book.
A milestone is worth marking somewhere that feels separate from the everyday, and many people in Mill Bay find that a warm island with clear water fits the occasion well. Whether you are celebrating a big birthday, a wedding anniversary, or a retirement, a villa gives your group room to gather on its own terms. Villa Rentals at the Westin St John Resort mean you can cook breakfast together, linger over dinner, and keep the celebration at your own pace rather than fitting it into a hotel routine. Coming from a northern state, the contrast is part of the appeal. Winters in Alaska are long and dark for much of the year, so a celebration built around sunshine and a slower rhythm can feel like a true change of season. Plan around the people you want with you, decide how many nights feel right, and let the villa be the place where the day unfolds quietly. St John Condos can help you sort out which villa suits your group before anything is final.

Celebrating from Mill Bay
- Reaching the island. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, which has the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there, a passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan this leg with your whole group in mind, especially if anyone is celebrating an milestone birthday and would rather arrive rested than rushed. Ask our team to walk through the connections before you commit to dates.
- Choosing your timing. Think about when the celebration matters most. Travelers leaving Alaska often prefer to avoid the peak of their own winter by booking the coldest months, though the islands are warm year round at the level of common knowledge. Consider school calendars, family schedules, and whether the milestone falls on a particular date. Let the day itself guide the week you choose.
- Planning the stay. Villa Rentals at the Westin St John Resort are rented by the week, which gives your celebration a relaxed shape. Decide early who is coming, who needs a separate room, and what meals you want to share at home. Driving on St. John is on the left, so consider whether you want a rental car or prefer to plan around the resort. A short list of must-do moments keeps the trip personal without crowding it.
