The Westin St John Resort
St John Condos helps travelers from Metlakatla, Alaska, plan a milestone celebration at a villa near the Westin St John Resort on St. John. Our local team answers questions before you book, so the trip can feel personal from the start.
A milestone is worth marking somewhere that feels different from everyday life, and for many people in Metlakatla that means a warm island far from the cold months of the far north. St. John is a small island in the US Virgin Islands, and it offers quiet mornings, clear water, and a pace that lets a group of family or friends settle in together. Planning from Alaska takes some thought, but the reward is a celebration that stands apart from the usual dinner out. Villa Rentals at the Westin St John Resort give you room to gather on your own terms. A private villa lets everyone spread out, cook a meal together, and share a toast on a terrace without rushing from one event to the next. Our team can talk through which villa suits your group size and what kind of celebration you have in mind, so you arrive knowing what to expect.

Planning a milestone trip from Metlakatla
- Reaching St. John. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, which has the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there a passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan this leg with a little breathing room, especially if your group is traveling in from several places and wants everyone together for the celebration.
- Choosing when to leave Alaska. Metlakatla winters are cold and dark, so many travelers prefer to head south when the days are long and the weather at home feels hardest. Think about the date of your milestone first, then work backward. Settling on the timing early gives your group more options for airfare and villa availability.
- Planning the stay. Villa Rentals are booked by the week, which suits a celebration that deserves unhurried days. Decide who is coming, what each person hopes to do, and whether you want a quiet dinner or a longer gathering. Share those details with our team, and we will help you choose a villa and sort out the small logistics before you commit.
