The Westin St John Resort
St John Condos can help travelers from Merritt Island, Florida, plan a milestone celebration at the Westin St John Resort, with villas rented by the week and a local team that answers questions before you book.
A milestone is worth marking somewhere that feels separate from ordinary life. For travelers leaving Merritt Island, the Florida coast is familiar, so many people choose a Caribbean island for an anniversary, a big birthday, or a retirement. St. John offers a quieter pace, warm weather through the year, and a setting where a group or a couple can slow down together. Villa Rentals at the Westin St John Resort give you room to gather your own way. Instead of a single hotel room, you have a home base with space to cook a relaxed breakfast, talk late on a porch, and let the celebration unfold on your schedule. Our team can talk through which layout suits your group before you commit.

Planning Your Trip from Merritt Island
- Reaching St. John. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, which uses the airport code STT. From there a taxi carries you to Red Hook, where you board the passenger ferry across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan this leg with a little breathing room, especially if your celebration falls on a fixed date. Our team can help you line up the transfer so the arrival feels easy.
- Choosing Your Season. The islands stay warm across the year, so the choice comes down to crowds, weather, and budget rather than comfort. Many people from Florida find the cooler months appealing because the trade winds feel gentle. Think about when your milestone falls, and let that guide the dates. We are happy to walk through the calendar with you before you book.
- Planning the Stay. Choose a villa that fits your group size, then decide how much of the celebration you want planned in advance. Consider whether you want a private dinner in the villa or a few evenings out in town. Driving on St. John is on the left, so take that into account if you rent a vehicle. Tell us what the occasion is, and we will help shape the week around it.
Frequently asked questions
Is a villa better than a hotel room for a milestone celebration?
For many groups and couples, yes. A villa gives you separate living space, a kitchen for a quiet morning, and a porch for toasts. It feels like your own gathering rather than a standard stay. Villas are rented by the week, which suits a celebration that deserves more than a single night. Our team can compare layouts with you.
Do I need to arrange anything before I leave Merritt Island?
It helps to settle your dates, your group size, and any special plans early. Let us know the occasion and we can point out which villas and setups suit it. Travel to St. John usually runs through St. Thomas and the Red Hook ferry, so think about those connections too. Asking questions before booking is exactly what our team is here for.
