The Westin St John Resort
St John Condos can help families from Marco Shores-Hammock Bay, Florida, plan a relaxed island trip at Westin St John Resort villas, and the local team answers questions before you book.
Florida families often think about the Caribbean as a warm-weather escape, and a villa at the Westin St John Resort gives you room to spread out. Instead of squeezing everyone into a standard hotel room, you can settle into a home-style space where kids have room to play and adults have a quiet corner to read. For many households, that shift in space changes the whole feel of the trip. Planning a family getaway from Marco Shores-Hammock Bay means balancing schedules, budgets, and the wishes of everyone traveling together. Villa rentals work well for this because the setup is flexible, and you are not tied to a single rigid itinerary. If you want to talk through what would suit your group, St John Condos is happy to answer your questions before you commit to anything.

Getting your family from Marco Shores-Hammock Bay to St. John
- Reach St. Thomas first. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, the airport code is STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there you board the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan for this final stretch with children in mind, since bags, car seats, and tired kids all add to the load. Ask your villa contact about luggage tips before you go.
- Pick the right season. Florida families know their own weather, and the Caribbean has its own rhythm. Traveling outside peak winter weeks can give you a calmer island experience. Think about school calendars, work commitments, and how much sun your crew can handle. Talk with the St John Condos team about which weeks suit your group before you lock in dates for a villa stay.
- Plan the stay itself. Villa rentals are booked by the week, so think about how many days you want on the island and whether everyone will want the same pace. Consider a mix of planned activities and open time at the villa. Remember that driving on St. John is on the left side of the road, which may feel unfamiliar to adults at the wheel. Settle these details early so the trip feels easy.
