The Westin St John Resort

St John Condos helps travelers from Klukwan, Alaska, plan a family trip to the Westin St John Resort, with villa rentals that give everyone room to spread out. Ask the local team anything before you book.

Planning a family vacation from Klukwan means thinking about a long trip with children, older relatives, and a lot of luggage. Klukwan sits in the northern part of the West, where winters are cold and daylight is short for much of the year. Many families from here look forward to warm sunshine, clear water, and a change of scenery, and St. John in the US Virgin Islands offers exactly that. The Westin St John Resort is a practical base for a family because villa rentals give you separate rooms, a kitchen for simple meals, and space to unwind together after a busy day. St John Condos is a local team that answers questions before you book, so you can talk through bedroom arrangements, travel logistics, and what your group needs. Taking time to plan now makes the trip feel relaxed when you arrive.

Getting from Klukwan to St. John

  1. Reach the islands. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there the passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan for a few connections, keep carry-on bags for essentials, and pack children's comfort items where you can reach them easily during the journey.
  2. Pick your departure season. Klukwan's winters are cold, so many families from the northern West choose to leave during the darker months when a warm break feels most welcome. Think about school calendars, your children's schedules, and the weather you want at the destination. The local team can help you weigh those choices before you commit to dates.
  3. Plan the family stay. Villa rentals are booked by the week, which suits families who want a settled routine. Choose a villa with enough bedrooms for everyone, check how close it is to the resort's facilities, and remember that driving on St. John is on the left. Ask St John Condos about layouts and any details that matter to your group.
