The Westin St John Resort
St John Condos helps travelers from Hypoluxo, Florida, plan a week away with friends at villas near the Westin St John Resort. Ask the local team anything before you book.
Hypoluxo sits on Florida's Atlantic coast, so many of the people who live here already know the feeling of warm water and long summer evenings. A week with friends on a Caribbean island feels like a natural extension of that, with a different pace and a change of scenery. Villa Rentals at the Westin St John Resort give your group room to spread out, cook together, and sit on a shared porch without sharing one small hotel room. The U.S. Virgin Islands are a short step away from the mainland in spirit, though the trip itself takes some planning. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, then take a taxi to Red Hook and the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay on St. John. Once you arrive, keep in mind that driving on St. John is on the left. A week of shared meals, slow mornings, and a little friendly competition over who gets the good chair is exactly what a group trip is for.

Getting from Hypoluxo to St. John with your group
- Plan the connection. Most travelers from Hypoluxo fly into St. Thomas, the island airport, and then continue on by taxi to Red Hook. From there the passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Coordinate arrival times within your group so that everyone reaches the ferry together, and share the taxi plan well before anyone packs a bag.
- Pick your week. Florida's warm months and the Caribbean's own seasons both shape how a trip feels. Think about when your friends can all take time off, and weigh that against the weather you prefer. Settle on dates early, since a full group booking of Villa Rentals works best when everyone commits at the same time.
- Set up the stay. Choose a villa that fits the number of people in your group, and talk through shared costs, grocery runs, and who handles driving on the left side of the road. Bring questions to the St John Condos team before booking. They can walk you through the villa options at the Westin St John Resort so the week runs smoothly from the first night.
Frequently asked questions
Is a villa better than a hotel for a group trip from Hypoluxo?
For a group of friends, a villa usually gives more space, a kitchen for shared meals, and separate areas for quiet time. Villa Rentals at the Westin St John Resort are rented by the week, which suits a full-length trip. The St John Condos team can help you compare layouts before you decide.
Will I need to rent a car on St. John?
Many visitors find a car helpful for getting around the island, and remember that driving on St. John is on the left. Think about how your group plans to move between the villa, the beach, and town. Ask St John Condos about transport options when you talk through your itinerary.
