The Westin St John Resort
St John Condos, a local team on St. John, can answer your questions before you book a villa at the Westin St John Resort for a first Caribbean trip from Gifford, Florida.
Gifford sits in the Southeast, where the warm months stretch long and the ocean is never far from mind. A first trip to the Caribbean can feel like a big step, especially when the islands are a different country with their own rhythms. Many travelers from this part of Florida find that the familiar sun is only the beginning of what they notice. Saint John is a small US island, so you will not need a passport in the usual sense, though you should confirm your documents before you go. Life here moves at an easy pace, with a quiet coastline and lush hillsides that shift color through the day. Renting a villa at the Westin St John Resort through Villa Rentals gives you space to settle in rather than rushing from one attraction to the next.

Planning Your Trip From Gifford
- Reach the island. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, which has the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there you board the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay. It is a simple sequence once you know it, and it helps to keep your luggage light. Driving on St. John is on the left, so think about that before you rent a car on arrival.
- Choose your season. Florida visitors often expect the islands to feel like home, and in many ways they do. Still, seasons bring different weather, so consider when rain is more likely and when the breeze is steadier. Talk through your preferred months with the St John Condos team before you lock in dates, since they can point out what suits a first visit.
- Plan the stay. A villa rented by the week gives you room to cook, rest, and work at your own speed. Think about how many people are traveling, what you want from your mornings, and whether you want to explore or simply relax. Villa Rentals at the Westin St John Resort can be arranged around those choices, so your week feels like yours.
