The Westin St John Resort
St John Condos can answer questions for families from Floral City, Florida, before you book a villa at the Westin St John Resort on St. John, US Virgin Islands. Our local team is glad to talk through the details first.
Floral City sits in the Southeast, where Florida's warm climate makes it easy to imagine a long stretch of sun and sea. For a family, the appeal of a Caribbean island is often the chance to slow down together, with room to spread out and a rhythm that suits children as well as grown-ups. Villa rentals at the Westin St John Resort offer that kind of space, rented by the week, so everyone has a home base to return to after a full day outdoors. Planning a family trip from Floral City usually starts with a simple question: what does a week away look like for everyone, not just the adults? Most visitors reach St. John by flying into St. Thomas, then taking a taxi to Red Hook and the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay. Keep in mind that driving on St. John is on the left, which is worth remembering if you plan to rent a car. St John Condos is happy to walk you through these details before you commit.

Getting from Floral City to St. John
- Start with the flight. Most families from the Floral City area fly into St. Thomas, the airport code STT, and plan the rest of the trip from there. Pack for the ferry crossing and think about how much luggage you will carry on and off the boat. A small bag for each child, kept within easy reach, can make the transfer far less stressful for everyone involved.
- Choose your timing. Leaving Florida for the islands works well when the school calendar and work schedules line up with a calm stretch of the year. Consider the weather you prefer, whether that is the drier season or a quieter time with fewer visitors. Talk with the St John Condos team about which weeks suit your family best before you lock in dates.
- Plan the stay. Choose a villa rental large enough that children have their own space and parents can rest in quiet. Think about meals, since having a kitchen can simplify breakfasts and snacks. Map out a loose plan for beach days and downtime so the week feels relaxed rather than rushed, and let the villa be the place you return to each day.
