Planning a quiet week from Flagler Beach
- Getting to St. John. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, which uses the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there, a passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Leave room for the connections, pack light for the ferry, and keep your travel documents within reach. Once you land, the island feels close and manageable, which is part of its appeal.
- Choosing when to go. Florida winters are mild by comparison with much of the country, but the Virgin Islands have their own seasonal rhythm. Think about whether you want a drier stretch for longer beach days or a time of year that matches your work and family calendar. Talk with the St John Condos team early, and they can help you weigh the options against the quiet week you are hoping for.
- Planning the stay. Choose a villa with the amenities you care about most, such as a shaded deck or a quiet outlook. Plan a few unhurried anchors for the week, like a slow morning on the beach or a dinner you cook yourself, and leave the rest open. Remember that driving on St. John is on the left, so take that into account if you rent a car. A relaxed plan usually makes the most restful trip.
