Getting from DeLand Southwest to St. John
- Reach St. Thomas first. Most visitors fly into St. Thomas, using the airport code STT. From there, a taxi will carry you to Red Hook, where you board the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay. Plan for bags and young travelers, since the transfer involves a few steps. St John Condos can explain the usual route in detail so your family knows what to expect on arrival day.
- Pick the right season. Florida families are used to heat, so the Virgin Islands may feel comfortable at many times of year. Consider school calendars, holiday travel and how much rain your group is willing to accept. Booking early gives you more choice of villa layout and dates. The team can help you weigh these trade-offs against your own family schedule.
- Plan the stay together. Once you arrive, remember that driving on St. John is on the left, which may take some adjustment for drivers from Florida. Talk with your group about meals, beach days and quiet time so everyone has something to look forward to. Villa Rentals give you space to do this comfortably, and St John Condos is ready to answer any planning question before you book.
