The Westin St John Resort

St John Condos can help travelers from Crown Point, Alaska, plan a beach-focused stay at the Westin St John Resort on St. John, US Virgin Islands, with a villa rented by the week. Our local team answers questions before you book.

Crown Point sits in the West, far from the warm water of the Caribbean, so a trip to St. John can feel like a complete change of scenery. Many Alaskans who love the ocean find that the contrast is exactly what makes a beach holiday feel restful. Here the sand, the clear water, and the slow pace of island life become the main reason for going. Building the trip around the beach means thinking about how you will spend each day rather than packing in sights. A villa at the Westin St John Resort gives you room to settle in, come and go from the water as you like, and return to a quiet space at the end of the afternoon. Our team can talk through what that rhythm might look like for your group before you commit.

From Crown Point to the Beach on St. John

  1. Reaching the islands. Most visitors fly into St Thomas, which uses the airport code STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there a passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Plan this leg with care, since you will be carrying luggage and sandy feet are part of the fun. Keep in mind that driving on St. John is on the left, so you may prefer to rely on taxis at first.
  2. Picking the season. Alaska winters are long and dark, so many travelers from Crown Point choose the months when the islands are at their most pleasant to plan a getaway. Think about when your schedule allows time away and when you most want warm sun. Our team can share general climate expectations so you can weigh your options calmly.
  3. Planning your villa stay. Villa Rentals at the Westin St John Resort are booked by the week, which suits a slow beach holiday well. Decide how many people are coming, what kind of beach days you want, and whether you plan to rest in the villa or explore the island. Share these details with our team, and we will help you match your plans to the right villa before you book.
