The Westin St John Resort
St John Condos is a local team that helps travelers from Cabana Colony, Florida plan a week of snorkeling and beach days at villas near the Westin St John Resort, and answers your questions before you book.
Cabana Colony sits in Florida, in the Southeast, where the weather stays warm for much of the year. Many people who live here already know the feeling of a sunny shoreline, but a week on St. John offers something different: clear water, quiet coves, and days that move at your own pace. Plenty of visitors arrive wanting to snorkel in the morning, rest on the sand after lunch, and watch the light change over the bay in the evening. Villa rentals suit that kind of trip well. Instead of a hotel room, you settle into a home base with space to spread out, cook a simple meal, and come and go as the tide and your plans allow. St John Condos can talk through which villa fits your group, what to pack for reef days, and how to build a week that feels relaxed rather than rushed.

Planning a beach week from Cabana Colony
- Getting to St. John. Most travelers from Cabana Colony fly into St. Thomas at STT, then take a taxi to Red Hook and catch the passenger ferry across to Cruz Bay. Once you land on St. John, remember that driving is on the left, and plan to keep your rental car simple and your gear packed close. St John Condos can share the practical details that make that last leg easy.
- Choosing when to leave. Think about when you want your snorkeling and beach days to fall. Florida travelers often prefer a stretch when they can get away from busy weekends and crowded beach towns at home. Choose dates that match the seasons you enjoy most, and let the local team help you weigh calm water against the weather patterns common to the islands.
- Planning the stay. Book your villa by the week so your days can stretch into one another without constant packing. Plan a loose rhythm: an early swim, a mid-day break in the shade, and an afternoon by the water. Share your snorkeling goals and the size of your group, and St John Condos will help you match Villa Rentals to the way you want to spend your week.

Is a villa better than a hotel room for a snorkeling week?
For many families and friends, yes. A villa gives you a kitchen for quick breakfasts, room to store masks, fins, and towels, and space to gather after a day in the water. You can keep your own schedule and step out to the beach whenever you like. St John Condos can explain how the villas differ so you can choose what suits your group.
Do I need to plan everything before I leave Cabana Colony?
You do not need every detail settled before you go. Start with your dates, the number of people traveling, and what you hope to do on the water. Then ask St John Condos your questions before you book. The local team answers them plainly, so you can arrive on St. John with a clear plan and room to adjust once you are there.
