The Westin St John Resort
St John Condos can help travelers from Bushnell, Florida, plan a beach-centered trip to villas at the Westin St John Resort, and their local team answers questions before you book.
Bushnell sits inland in central Florida, so for many families the idea of a beach holiday is less about stepping out the door and more about choosing a place that feels worth the trip. St. John appeals to people who want warm water, a slower pace, and quiet mornings on a sand beach. Because the island is reached by flying into St. Thomas, the journey is part of the plan, and it helps to think of it as the first chapter rather than an obstacle. Villa Rentals at the Westin St John Resort give you a home base with room to spread out, cook a simple meal, and wander down to the water whenever you like. Many travelers from Florida already know the rhythm of coastal living, and the island rewards that familiarity with easy days, unhurried breakfasts, and sunsets you can watch from your own terrace. Planning around the beach means thinking about what you want each day to feel like.

Your beach trip from Bushnell
- Getting to the island. Most visitors from Bushnell fly into St. Thomas, the airport code being STT, and then take a taxi to Red Hook. From there a passenger ferry carries you across to Cruz Bay on St. John. Keep your bags light for the ferry, and allow a little slack in your schedule so a missed connection does not spoil the first evening of your holiday.
- Choosing when to go. Florida travelers are used to heat and humidity, but the islands have their own seasonal pattern of rain and breezes. Think about whether you want the calmer months or the busier season, since prices and crowds shift with the calendar. Mention your preferred dates to the St John Condos team, who can talk through what to expect before you commit.
- Planning your stay. Villa Rentals are typically booked by the week, which suits a beach-focused trip well because it gives you time to settle in. Decide early whether you want a quiet villa for reading and swimming or one closer to the activity you enjoy. Driving on St. John is on the left, so a short orientation before you head out on the road is a sensible habit.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a car on St. John if I want to focus on the beach?
It depends on your plans. If you mainly want to walk to the water and stay close to your villa, you may need less driving than you expect. For trips to other beaches across the island, a rental car gives you flexibility, and remember that driving on St. John is on the left, which may take a little getting used to.

Booking early gives you the widest choice of villas and dates, especially for the busier parts of the year. The St John Condos team is happy to answer questions before you book, so reach out with your preferred dates and they can help you find a Villa Rental that fits a beach-centered holiday.
