The Westin St John Resort
St John Condos helps travelers from Bettles, Alaska plan a milestone celebration at a villa at the Westin St John Resort, with a local team ready to answer questions before you book.
A milestone is worth marking somewhere that feels different from everyday life, and for travelers starting out from Bettles, the Virgin Islands can offer that change. Bettles sits in the interior of Alaska, where the long northern winters are common knowledge, so many people there look forward to a warm, bright setting for a special occasion. A villa stay at the Westin St John Resort gives you room to gather family or friends, slow down, and mark the moment together. Villa Rentals at the Westin St John Resort are rented by the week, which suits a celebration better than a short hotel visit. You can plan meals at your own pace, spread out in your own space, and build the trip around what matters to the people you are celebrating. The St John Condos team is happy to talk through the details with you before you commit, so the planning feels calm rather than rushed.

Getting from Bettles to St. John
- Plan the journey in stages. Most visitors reach St. John by flying into St. Thomas, which has the airport code STT. From there, take a taxi to Red Hook and board the passenger ferry to Cruz Bay on St. John. Give yourself a generous window on arrival day, especially if the group is traveling together from a long way off, so the transfers never feel hurried.
- Choose the right time to leave. Leaving Alaska in the cooler months can make the contrast with the islands feel especially welcome, while many travelers from the north also enjoy the calm of off-peak weeks. Think about the milestone itself, whether a birthday, anniversary, or graduation, and pick dates that fit everyone's schedules. Your St John Condos contact can help you weigh these choices against availability.
- Plan the stay around the celebration. Once you have a villa booked by the week, decide early what the celebration will look like. Think about shared meals, a quiet morning for each guest, and one special evening that marks the occasion. On St. John, driving is on the left, so consider whether you want a rental car or prefer to arrange transport in advance, and leave room in the schedule for unhurried days.
