The Westin St John Resort

St John Condos helps families in Bel Air North, Maryland, plan a Caribbean stay by renting villas at the Westin St John Resort, with questions answered before you book.

Bel Air North sits in Maryland, in the Southeast region of the United States, where winters are cold enough that many families look forward to a warm break. A trip to St. John, in the US Virgin Islands, offers the kind of sun and sea that is hard to find at home, and it gives children a chance to see a very different landscape. Planning a family trip there is easier when you know what to expect from the journey and the accommodations. Villa Rentals at the Westin St John Resort give larger families room to spread out, cook together and keep a routine that suits younger travelers. Villas are rented by the week, which fits a family schedule better than a short hotel stay. St John Condos is a local team that answers questions before you book, so you can ask about bedrooms, kitchens and what each day might look like before you commit.

Getting from Bel Air North to St. John

  1. Fly into St. Thomas. Most visitors reach St. John by flying to St. Thomas, airport code STT. From Bel Air North, you can plan your connection with an airline or travel agent, keeping young children and luggage in mind. Once you land, you will need a taxi to Red Hook, where the passenger ferry departs for Cruz Bay on St. John.
  2. Choose your departure season. Maryland winters are cold, so many families from Bel Air North prefer to travel during the colder months at home, when the Caribbean feels especially welcome. Think about school calendars, work schedules and how much warm weather your group wants. Ask the St John Condos team which weeks suit your plans before you lock in dates.
  3. Plan the stay around the villa. Because Villa Rentals are booked by the week, think about how your family wants to use each day, whether that means quiet mornings at the villa or outings across the island. Remember that driving on St. John is on the left, which may feel unfamiliar to some drivers. Confirm details with the St John Condos team so the week runs smoothly for everyone.
